The Critical Theory Workshop / Atelier de Théorie Critique is an intensive graduate-level program, which takes place every summer in Paris, France. Founded by Gabriel Rockhill in 2008, the primary objective of the Workshop is to provide an international forum for interdisciplinary and comparative research in critical theory, broadly construed. Participants are exposed to the work of contemporary thinkers and engage with current debates in the Francophone world.

The Workshop is comprised of a research seminar at the Université Paris-Sorbonne as well as a series of public debates and discussions with leading intellectuals (past guests have included Jacques Rancière, Nathalie Heinich and Olivier Voirol).

The primary language of instruction is English. However, it is highly recommended that applicants have some knowledge of the French language, which will be important for working with original texts in the research seminar and preparing for the debates with contemporary intellectuals.
